Ribsparametric model in Autodesk Inventor
2016completed

Architect: Santiago Calatrava. Christina D. Long was part of Calatrava's design team in New York from 2004 to 2008, before she founded Vertical. Her main work was the parametric computer model of the Oculus's sculptural structural ribs, built in Autodesk Inventor from Calatrava's sketches.

Designed in the wake of 9/11, the station combines the highly visible Oculus above ground with an extensive system of underground concourses linking the Ground Zero buildings, the PATH trains and the subway.

The gallery pairs photographs of the finished building with views of the Inventor model from 2007 and 2008: the Oculus exterior, its interior, the hall toward Battery Park City, and the controlling dimensions of a rib.
